Aesthetic Surgery is an exact science requiring artistic skill and keen technical knowledge. A board-certified plastic surgeon is the most qualified physician you can select to perform your surgery. Cosmetic surgery is an investment in yourself, and like any other investment, it should be thoughtfully investigated and planned.
Dr. Delgado has been in plastic surgery practice since 1988 and is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery - the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to certify plastic surgeons.
All procedures are performed at our newly accredited state of the art surgical facility. At Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center our goal is to provide you with personal care at its highest level, making your surgical experience a pleasant one.
Do you want to get rid of “woman-like breasts” or “moobs?” If the condition of gynecomastia is restricting you from participating in certain social activities, such as swimming or going to the beach, because you are afraid to take your shirt off, you may consider undergoing a breast reduction (“gynecomastia surgery”).
Gynecomastia affects approximately 40 to 60 percent of the male population, commonly causing feelings of insecurities. If traditional methods of weight loss have not helped to improve your gynecomastia, breast reduction surgery (“gynecomastia surgery”) can help to eliminate the excess breast tissue.
Male breast reduction is frequently performed by San Francisco gynecomastia doctor Miguel A. Delgado, M.D., F.A.C.S. at Marin Cosmetic Surgery Center. With two convenient locations in Novato and San Francisco, our breast reduction surgeon offers a comfortable, relaxed environment at his private, state-of-the-art surgery center; those seeking male breast reduction surgery can anticipate personalized care.
Male breasts are caused by the overproduction of glandular fatty tissue, which Dr. Delgado can lessen through surgical removal. This technique may also be combined with tumescent liposuction (“lipoplasty”) to remove surrounding fatty tissue, which he will suction using a small, hollow tube called a cannula. For some men, skin excision may also be required for achieving optimal results. When visiting Dr. Delgado regarding gynecomastia treatment, he will discuss the various factors included, and the type of results you may anticipate. He will evaluate your health and discuss your goals with you, providing you with an information booklet that includes all pre- and post-surgery instructions.
Dr. Delgado will determine the best technique to help you achieve your aesthetic goals, which will determine your gynecomastia surgery cost. During this procedure, he may surgically remove glandular fatty tissue as well as surrounding fat tissue through liposuction (“lipoplasty”). In some cases, skin excision may be necessary. The end result is a more masculine contour that will contribute to an overall improved physique.
During a consultation with San Francisco gynecomastia surgeon Dr. Delgado, the two of you will discuss your goals and the associated possible risks and complications. He will also evaluate your medical history and perform a physical exam to determine if plastic surgery is right for you. You may also receive an estimated gynecomastia surgery cost, which depends on the extent of your condition.

All men with enlarged breasts are candidates but the more extreme cases of gynecomastia will require more extensive surgery and possibly skin excision. It is important for the patient to be healthy and emotionally stable. Men whose gynecomastia is exacerbated by drugs should take this into consideration prior to surgery.
